Well not really for Paulette but I am posting it for Paulette. Get it? LOL!
When I was home for Easter Amy and I made a quick visit (well as quick as we could be. LOL) to see Paulette and Ria at "The Barn". I picked up these cute bird chipboard pieces and was thinking what am I going to use them for but they are sooo cute how can I pass them up? Paulette suggested using them on cards. Of course the price was right so why not?
Anyway, last night I needed a little "me" time (although I should have been getting ready for class Thursday night) so I decided to play with one of the chipboard birds and cover it with pattern paper. My neighbor went into the hospital on the weekend so I wanted to make her a card to let her know I was thinking of her.
It has been a while since I have done much stamping so I was feeling a little out of practice. I think it is a little plain but I am going to leave it as is so I can get it to her asap.
This is another one I did last night. The owl was also from the chipboard pieces. I traced it onto the back of my patterned paper and once I had it cut out I decided not to mount it on the chipboard to have that for something else. Instead I put it on a piece of cardstock and cut around it again. I then sponged it with Tempting Turquoise ink.
I think the owl needs eyes but I haven't found anything to use for them. I think I want something dark to show up. Any ideas?

Hi Karen,
I was to the barn on Saturday and HAD to buy those cute birds too! Yep, your owl needs eyes, what about wee buttons...must be some small ones you could rip off an old shirt of Ian's.What am I thinking, I hear the girls in NB think you are the BUTTON QUEEN, so go check your stash! I'll have to get Amy to sing them the 'Button Factory' song when they come!
Ohhh, thanks mom...remember I am no longer 8 years old and I can't be forced to entertain your friends anymore! LOL!
Cute cards, Karen...love the owl!
Amy
Oh, come on Amy, I was looking forward to hearing you sing! It's not like we haven't heard you before! I bet if that karaoke machine gets brought out at PAAT we'll be hearing you - a few times. You and your mom will have to get Karen up with you this time.
Roberta
Oh, sorry Karen, this post was for Amy.....maybe she needs her own blog. But I do like the cards too.
Heh...I think I know the button song...Is it Fred Penner? (Hi my name is Joe, and I work in a button factory....One day my boss came up to me and said, "Heh,Joe are you busy? Then move the button with your right foot!!"
Is that the one? Great tune!!
Amy and I could really kick that at PAAT if I could go! Maybe next year!
Karen, haven't surfed here in a while!!! These cards are sweet...no buttons? try a gem stone or tiny brads...owl needs eyes :o)
Happy day!
