I am sitting here on hold with the doctor's office because I managed to forget Emma's appointment this morning so I figured I might as well post a couple of pictures.

I haven't had time to make any cards the last few days (could have something to do with the wisdom teeth coming out last week) so these
are a couple of pics I took in July of Ian playing with the sprinkler. I can't wait to get to scrapbook these. I really need to get my pictures reorganized so I can get lots done at the Scrapper's Treat in Mactaquac.

Paper Tole Rose

I made this card a few days ago and haven't had a chance to post since. The last time I was home a friend taught us paper tole and I have been wanting to do try it with the Wild Rose set since I got back.
It is hard to see in the picture but the flowers are cut into many layers and built up. This was my first time using the Recollections paper and the new stitched ribbon from the Holiday mini. I think I am going to send this into Stampin' Up! for their monthly contest. I have also been thinking I might send in the pearl ex Sunflower one. What do you think? It can't hurt right?

Love it!

I have seen the slide shows on other blogs before and finally decided to get one for myself. It really was easy and I love how I can have my cards displayed like this. I am going to have to take pics of more cards so I can have most of them on here.

Angela asked about the other cards I did at the Christmas in August class-the faux postage penguin is the other one I was going to post.

Let me know what you think of the slide show. I could also make it a banner across the top but wanted to try it this way for now.

Pearl Ex Sunflower

This is one of the cards we did Friday night. The sunflower is stamped with Versamark and then pearl ex was stippled on the versamark. I used a soft makeup brush with gold on the petals and green on the leaves, stem and center. The card base is more mustard and the mat for the flower is true thyme. I used my QuickCuts to punch out the tags and gold cord wrapped around the flower layer. The flowers on the background are stamped with more mustard and we used itty bitty backgrounds in between the flowers.

Shylo

This is the picture of the neighbors filly I wanted to post. She is around 4 months old. We went to the farm for a visit last weekend with my in-laws and neice who is the same age as Ian, the kids loved watching her run and play with the cows. I printed this picture for them when they were here last night. I am really happy with how it turned out.

B'day party

Here are a couple of pics of Ian's party. We did a pirate theme. The cake is a treasure chest and Ian ate way too much chocolate coins and candy necklace. The kids all had a great time and played really well. I am glad though that it is only once a year.
We had company all day yesterday and I haven't had a chance to do any stamping. I do want to take pics of the cards we did Friday night and I also have a picture of the neighbor's horse that I printed off for them last night that I will post later (note to self) because I am quite proud of the picture :)

Christmas in August

This is one of the cards we did for a Christmas in August class a couple of weeks ago. We did 3 different faux techniques. This one is faux linen (the light green piece going down the side). This is one of the new Christmas sets Festive Favorites. The colors are Not Quite Navy, Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp and Whisper White.

Posts

I was just talking to Mom and she said that some of you haven't been able to post because you don't have blogs so I changed the settings and now anyone can post. Thank you all for the nice comments.

The Pink Fire Truck

Ian's Birthday was yesterday and when I told him we were going to make a cake he said he wanted a Fire Truck cake.
I found a picture on Kraft Canada and asked Joe to pick up the things I needed. Ian and I made the cake in the morning and while he was playing I cut it up in the shape of the truck.
When Joe got home I decorated it but had a little trouble with tinting the Cool Whip. I used a whole bottle of red food coloring with a couple of drops of blue and still ended up with a pink Fire Truck. I think I sould have made a yellow one.
Last night Ian told my sister that he had a pink Fire Truck cake and when she asked why he said "because I like pink". Lucky for me right?

Wonderful

This card is different from my usual style (a little busier I guess) but it was fun to do for a change. I used Trimtastic on the side, Looks like Spring and Warm Words.
The colors are Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy and Barely Banana. On the NQN I used Very Vanilla for the background flowers and the rest was stamped in NQN. There is a brad in the middle of the flower (from Assortment 2).

The Other One

This is the other card I did at the party. We used Wildlife Reserve and Canvas Background Stamp randomly on the So Saffron. I found that I had to stamp it off first so that there wouldn't be the lines from the edges of the stamp. The brown is Chocolate Chip, I really like these colors together.

Snowflake Buckle

This isn't the best picture but this is a card I did at a party a couple of weeks ago. It is with the Snowflake Spot and Cranberry Crisp and Buckaroo Blue. We have had a very busy weekend with company. They are leaving tomorrow morning and I am supposed to be getting an order today so hopefully I will be able to play with my new stuff this week.

My 1st Circle Card!

I have seen these quite a bit lately and have been wanting to do one so here it is. I haven't used Cowboy kid much so I had to use it for this.

The colors are basic black, really rust, bashful blue and very vanilla. I stamped the paisley from Cowboy Kid with white on the rust.

I stamped and masked the Kid then stamped Weathered in Creamy Caramel. The brad is one I have had forever and I am loving my circle punches lately.

Some time to play

I had some time to stamp last night and this is one of the cards I did. I think I will use the other 2 in classes so I won't post them just yet. This one is really simple but I like the design and the colors. I used the Spot On wheel and Seeing Spots with Marigold Morning, Cranberry Crisp, Cool Carribean and Certainly Celery.

Busy, busy, busy

I have been getting ready for tomorrow night's Christmas card class and doing my swap cards tht are due on Thursday but I did squeeze in a little time to finish this card that I started at Mom's. I don't have Silly Sealife yet but it is coming so I had stamped a few images while I was there and did this one yesterday.
This is a mirror image so you stamp the turtle onto a solid stamp and then stamp that onto the cardstock and then stamp it again beside the first one. I also did the one that Mom has on her blog with the circles punched out and the dolphin, octopus and shark behind the holes. I think that card was half of the reason why I had to get that set.
