Doodle Challenge

I combined the sketch challenge and color challenge for this week with Doodle This and Doodle That and came up with this card. I was having a hard time at first combining those colors and then decided because there were lots of layers with this sketch they would work well together.

I flipped the sketch so I could use the round tab punch on the top. The flowers are stamped in all of the colors (really rust, old olive, chocolate chip, so saffron, cool caribbean) and then I stamped it again in chocolate chip and colored it in with markers. Then cut it out and used a dimensional to pop it up.

Now to see what the challenge is for today. I think it is the limited supplies challenge. Hopefully I can sneak in a little time to stamp again this afternoon before I pack my stuff up for tonight.

I just checked and it it the ways to use it challenge. This week you are to use fibers, if you don't have fibers you could use yarn instead. Anyone want to play along and try it? I have to admit I have lots of fibers but very rarely use them. This will be fun.

Edited (again): I really shouldn't try to post before I take Ian to school. I guess I was in too much of a hurry and read the wrong challenge. LOL!! So the real challenge for today is to use die-cuts in your project. Here is a link to the Ways to Use it Challenge for today. Ok, who wants to do the challenge with me? You don't have to have a die-cut machine. I'm sure most of you have purchased die-cuts or if you don't have any you could fake it and make your own.

Thank Goodness for Baby Einstein

I just had to finish this card this morning so I put on Baby Einstein for Emma and snuck upstairs for a few (will maybe almost 30) minutes so I could finish watercoloring this card.

This is definately not nearly as good as one of Kittie's cards but it is way better than I thought it was going to be.

One thing I didn't have was the Watercolor Minis (I used to- why did I sell that?) so I used the end of one of the flowers from Both Way Blossoms and used a marker to ink it up.

I used reinkers for the tree and the grass and flowers but used my neglected Watercolor Crayons for the Gnome.

I really hope this inspires you to try this technique and if you do please share I would love to see them.

Now to try to find a little time today to do the color and sketch challenges for this week. Hmm...maybe I will combine them.

P.S. If you have Watercolor minis and want to either sell them or lend them to me let me know.

My first viewmaster card

This isn't a new card because I have been working on cards for classes and can't post those ones:)

This is one that I did at a party a few weeks ago. The directions can be found here. To do the piece for the words I used JanTinks directions in her Punchy Plates Tutorial using the keg tag punch and the 1 1/4" circle punch. The colors are Brocade blue, So Saffron and Mellow moss.


Yesterday I started the technique challenge on Splitcoast but didn't have time to finish it. The challenge was to do a "Kittie card" with a scene in the background. The challenge can be found here and there is a link to the tutorial there as well. I really can not draw so this was really hard for me but it was fun. I decided to copy her sample from the tutorial and do it pretty much the same so I will do another one once my practice one is done and show you.

Oh yes, I have the cards done (well not cut but my samples are done) for Thursday and we are using my new Cuttlebug! I'll share after class for those that can't be there.

Have I told you..

how much I love Page Maps? Well I do!

I have been trying to get some scrapping time in lately (I have done 4 pages in 2007! LOL!!) so I have been printing the monthly page maps to help speed the process along a little. I still have lots of pictures to scrapbook from last year and probably the year before but I am going to work on this year for now and then work back as I have time. I really am having fun doing the current pics because the memories are still fresh in my head.



When I sat down with these pictures the other night I instantly thought of the new Petals and Paisley paper. The colors were perfect with these pics. I also used Doodle this and Doodle that and the Flirty ribbon from the Winter mini (I really hope this comes into the big catty in July).



Now I just have to order the Doodle

Alphabet so I can put a title on the bottom one. Any ideas for a title? I think it will go under the photo on the right.

Note: When stamping the doodles that go over both the background and the picture you need to stamp them seperately and then match them up. Does that make sense? For all of the patterned paper squares I stamped the doodle on easc piece and then lined them up. It was more work but when you try to stamp it all at once there are areas that are missed.

SCS Color Challenges

You know how much I like to use the Color Challenges on Splitcoast and use them all the time. I decided to make this book for a quick reference to the challenges. The idea came from the 100th color challenge prize done by Leigh O'Brien which you can see Here. I used the Acoutrements paper and accents and elements from the Spring mini.

I can't believe I used these already! I am usually a "hoarder".

For the inside I printed all of the color challenges on Sahara Sand CS and punched the circles with the 1 1/4" circle punch.

Ian's new hat

I don't have any stamping related stuff to post just yet.

I had to post this picture of Ian instead. On Saturday we went to a Birthday party and then went for groceries after. Ian and I went into the superstore for a couple and while there he spotted a "Diego" hat. I couldn't say no, he was so excited about this hat. Since Saturday he has only taken it off to bath & sleep (and maybe a few other times but not many). Last night he decided to sleep with it on and when I went to check on him he still had it on! Of course I had to run for the camera :)

I have been working on a couple of things but nothing is done yet so I can't post them. I have punched and embossed a few things with my new Cuttlebug (CB) and have found a temporary storage solution for the dies and folders. If anyone has any ideas please let me know 'cause I'm not really happy with it right now but at least they are in one place.

On AmyR's blog she posted a link to a tutorial for the CB and one for the Crop-a-dile. I will look for them and try to add them as links on the side for you as well. You really do have to check out the CB if you haven't seen it, it is sooo much fun and even if you have one you might learn a thing or 2. I did.

Doodle Charm

I am soooo in love with Doodle This and Doodle That! You will probably see lots of things done with these stamps over the next while.

While I was getting ready for my last stamp camp I was waiting for something to dry so I pulled out my Doodle This and stamped the flowers on a scrap piece of paper. I then colored the flowers with future floor polish and pearl ex. It is really hard to see in the picture but it is really shimmery in real life.

That piece sat on my desk for a couple of days (sorry Mom) until I saw my polyshrink in the back of my paper file and thought it would be fun to stamp the flower and shrink it. First I stamped it in StazOn and colored with a turquoise sharpie and then tried my Zig Painty for the first time.

The rest is pretty simple, I just used the doodles in the background on Cool Carribean and then tied ribbon around it and used gold cord to hang my charm on.

It is kind of a long story but I don't think I have taken that long to finish a card ever and had to share it with you.

I am so excited right now I can hardly stand it. I ordered some new toys from CompuPro and they will be in today. Joe is picking them up on his way home from work and I can't wait! Hopefully I can get some time in this weekend to play and when I do I will share it with you.

Paper Storage

Paper storage is something that gets a lot of discussion. Probably because of the ever growing stash of it many of us have :)

This is what I have been doing since just after I started with SU (Stampin' UP!) 2 1/2 years age. It really isn't anything fancy but it works for me. I went to Staples and got 2 filing cabinets that are stacked with a counter top on top for my ink and scrap paper (that is a new addition to this system since Mom & Dad were here)

They are sorted by color family. The top is Neutrals, Bold Brights and Earth Elements. The bottom is Rich Regals, Soft Subtles, In Colors and misc (like vellum, polyshrink & window sheets) are in the back. I also have a little stash back there for Ian for when he comes looking for paper.

My 12x12 paper is in the tote I got from Michaels (shown to the left in yesterdays pic) and is divided by SU pattern paper, non SU pattern, non SU CS (cardstock) and then there are files for scraps of these (except the SU CS that goes into the 8 1/2 x 11 file.

I also have unopened packs of CS and patterned paper on the bookcase the right of my desk. Oh yes, and the file cabinets are to the left of my desk so they are easily accessible.

On to the card. This is one that I did for a sketch challenge on SCS but haven't had a chance to post it yet.

The flowers are from Both Way Blossoms, I used Regal Rose and Certainly Celery markers to ink them. For a couple of the longer ones I went above where the end of the stem would reach the bottom of the CS (make sense?) and then drew in the bottom of the stem. Just make sure the flower and leaves on the other end are clean. I used Delight in Life in Versamark in the sides and paper pierced the Regal Rose.

The inspiration for the ribbon came from Nichole Heady's card found here on her blog. I really liked the look of the ribbon but had a hard time when I went to thread the ribbon through the slits so I decided to use glue dots for mine.

My space and a card

Here is a pic of my space you haven't seen yet. Yesterday I took a bunch of pictures so that over the next few days I can show you more of how my space is organized, thanks again Mom. Mind you some of it I had already done - it was just hidden behind all of the other stuff :)

Angie posted on her blog asking to see other people's rooms so I though it was about time I finished the tour (btw- Angie do you mind if I post a link to your blog). I really think that we should start bugging Mom to post pictures of her room 'cause it really is the ultimate.

So, back to the above picture (you can click on the picture to make it bigger). My buttons and flowers are all in jars, my Queen & Co stuff is in that bowl on the right (Nicole had a sale), chipboard, embellishments & letters are all in baskets. My 12x12 paper is divided in the storage thing on the left and I have some page kits and more paper on each end. Tomorrow I will show my 8 1/2 x 11 paper storage and maybe ribbon.

Now onto the card-this is completly CASED (copy and share everything) but it is one that I did at a workshop and had to share 'cause I love it. The card was done by mytime on splitcoast ( I love her work), here is a link to the original (<-----click here). I didn't change anything but wanted to post it here so you can see it. Pictures

I don't have any pics of cards ready for you so I am posting some other pics I have taken this week instead.

This one is of my little "Imp" playing in the high chair while I was making supper. She now loves play-doh (Daddy started that).








This is what Joe and Ian were doing while I was making supper. The neighbor with the tractor made this hill for Ian when he plowed for us.










Emma figured out how to climb on the bed in the playroom a few weeks ago so now she is there all the time. They both love to sit there and read and watch out the window (which is why there are so many finger prints on the window behind them).


Tonight I did the big blossom card with my last group so now I can tell you that it was with the faux shaving cream technique. I inked up the stamp with tempting turquoise and then used a wheel (in this case the Poinsettia jumbo wheel) to remove ink from spots on the stamp. You use kind of a twisting motion (don't wheel it) randomly all over the stamp.

I have lots of pictures of my stamp room and cards to share with you but you will have to wait until tomorrow (and the following days 'cause I don't want to post everything at once). I need some sleep and in the morning I am going to edit some pics and post here and upload some more to my SCS gallery. I also have a couple more links to add. Have you checked the ones I added last week? They are on the right.

Brown and Orange Happy Birthday

This is where the other half of the twill tape went. I also used some leftover brown waxy flax from a class (from this past trip to Moncton) to tie the Happy and Birthday on.

The horses are stamped in Chocolate Chip and sponged around the edges with Close to Cocoa. I like the look of it "uncolored" and was in kind of a time crunch when I did this. We were on our way to the B'day party and were running a tad late ;)

The paper was scraps from a class I taught at CompuPro. I think it is Wild Asparagus but if I am wrong someone please correct me. The layout was a previous sketch challenge from SCS, I'm not sure what # though. I love using these, can you tell?

Tractor Time

I made this card for my neighbor who lives on a farm and happens to have a blue tractor. The stamp set is tractor time and is one of the few retired sets I have kept. I just couldn't give it up and am so glad I didn't 'cause I like how this turned out. The patterned paper was scraps I had from taking a class (I think it was from Moncton last year) so I don't know what kind it is but it was perfect for a masculine card (which I don't do enough of).

I used chocolate chip and buckaroo blue markers(in a blender pen -ask me if you don't know how to do this and I will find the info and post it) to ink up the stamp. I sponged around the edges of all papers. For the twill tape I wanted it to be more frayed (sp?) so I took a piece of the narrow twill tape from SU, cut it in half and then kind of pulled at the ends and sides.

To see what I did with the other half of the twill tape you will have to check back in tomorrow :)

Stitched Blossom

I had to cancel class last night due to the weather and was planning on getting some stamping time in but Emma came down with the flu at supper time and was really not sleeping very well when she went up to bed so I didn't want to make too much noise up there. I did get the 2nd card for tonight's party done but will have to cut the pieces today while she naps. Good thing I work well under pressure. Eh?

I am using this card in a couple more classes but after I do I will post the directions so those of you that don't get to do it can try it out for yourselves :)

Happy Valentine's Day

These are the cards Ian and I did for his class party today. He stamped all of the bugs on the front and I stamped the inside and put them together last night. This morning he signed all of them. I figured I would be lucky to get him to do his teachers but he did every single one. I am so proud :) and he is too 'cause he made them. On the back is a little bear that is holding a heart and it says hand stamped by "Ian".

I was just about to upload this card and decided to check my e-mail first, there was a message from "D" (you know who you are... LOL!).

This is her message:
Karen.....do you not know that I live through you!!!! When are there going to be new cards online????? If you are not making any new cards then you better make it up to me and send you mother to my house and organize my life!!! Does she have her own show on tv???? Have a great day!

I am still laughing over that e-mail and it was perfect timing 'cause I really was just about to post this.

Yes, I have been stamping. Most of what I have been doing has been for classes and partys so I didn't want to post any of those. This is one I did last night, I was in a bit of a creativity rut so I decided to print off some sketch and color challenges and this is what I came up with. The colors are blush blossom, chocolate chip and cool carribean. There is a bit of stickles in the middle of the flowers to make them stand out a bit more.

I am planning on adding a few links on the side later (hopefully today if I have time) so keep your eyes open for those and I also decided yesterday to upload my first card to Splitcoaststampers so you can now check out my gallery there (with one whole card in it!). It is under K. Thomas and I will try to figure out how to add a link here for that as well. Probably most of what I upload there will be here too but you never know :)

How's that for update? Kind of long winded I know but you asked for it "D" :-)

Oh yea, I also did my first View Master card that I am doing at a party on Friday so check back after then for a picture.

Mom and Dad were here for a couple of days and this is what Mom and I did (mostly Mom though). I am embarrased to show the before pics but I am going to so I can show what Mom did for me this weekend. Just remember that I have been really busy and that the coasters on my desk weren't there until I brought them back from Truro on Saturday :)

Really quick post...

to get you through the weekend :)

This is the swap card I did for Saturday. I used Polka Dots and Paisley (love it!) with whisper white and basic black cardstock. The black is stamped with the dots in white and then I tied black gingham around it and the piece with the flowers is popped up with dimensionals.

P.S. Does this card look familiar? It is the same layout as the one in the tutorial for the faux button and I just changed it to B & W.

I'm off now to type the labels for the back of my swap cards and then to bed. Hopefully I have everything, if not I am going to the right place. Right Mom?!?

What do you think..

about this for the shoebox swap? It has to have patterened paper and there are 26 (I think) participating so I had to make sure I had enough for all of them. Luckily I had 2 packs of this paper (Sarah, I think) so this is what I came up with.

Last night I changed the ribbon and used apricot and bluebird instead of the white and I think I like it better. It is a really simple card with the kissing technique. Now I just have to cut the paper for this today and pack and finish getting ready for tonight and, and, and...

I did get 4 of the 6 pocket notes done last night so just 2 more to go. I also stamped the envelopes and they look so cute.

On a different note I got an e-mail from Roberta that the February page maps are up. I haven't had time to look to see if there are any card maps but I did notice tag maps so they should be fun. Check out the Feb. page maps here.

I can't wait to get some scrapping time in so I can play with these maps. The last time Roberta and I scrapped together (a few weeks ago) she had printed some off and we both used them. A real time saver. Some other post I will talk about my scrapping goal for this year. Right now I need to go check a few more things off of my list.

Pink purse

Finally, here is the bag I did for the Valentine's WOW swap. I have been trying to upload this since yesterday afternoon and I think it finally worked.

For this one I used pretty in pink, chocolate chip and the loves me paper. The coffee cup is from Like it a Latte. I stamped the cup and the whipped cream in chocolate chip and then used my versamark marker for the whipped cream and embossed it with winter white EP. I stamped the heart in regal rose and cut it out then used sticky strip on the middle only and then curled the sides of the heart a little to make it "pop".

I still have to make the cards to go inside but they will be fairly simple (they kind of have to be at this point) and they will all be with the loves me paper and the same colors of CS. I find that limiting the stamp sets and colors really helps to speed the process and can help your creativity "flow".

What was that?

Did anyone guess right? It is a little purse that holds 6 note cards and envelopes. It would also be cute for a gift with chocolates or other little things in it. I found it on JanTink's blog and knew I had to case it. She has really great ideas and I quite often go there for inspiration.

I did one yesterday for a Valentine's WOW swap I am in this weekend. I will post it sometime this week 'cause it is just too cute not to share.

I also did 31 swap cards and have the base for another 5 ready (I mis-counted by a few) that I will probably finish once I figure out how many I need. The theme for this swap is Black and White so I used Polka Dots and Paisley with black gingham. I am really quite happy with it too so I guess I should show it off right? I will do that one day this week too. You know I like to keep you in suspense!

Keep checking back this week and I will have lots to share, I am going to take pics tomorrow of the swaps and the projects we did on Saturday so I will have them on my computer and no excuses :)

Sneak Peek

But first a picture of my little cutie with her Daddy's "American Choppers" hat on. She is saying "cheese". She loves having her picture taken now. Too bad she wouldn't have posed like this for the Christmas pictures I was trying to take. Oh well, maybe next year.

I have been super busy trying to get ready for the party Friday night and class on Saturday. It has been over a month since we have had a stamp camp so I am really looking forward to a day of stamping. Hopefully I will have more to post later in the week. Maybe another sneak peek or maybe I will even have some time to play and show you something different. Wish me luck. I really should try to prepare a little more ahead but I do work well under pressure.

Pink Paisley Elephant

When I started this card I planned on using last weeks Sketch Challenge from SCS but once I got going I ended up changing it just a little and moving the white piece up and adding the eyelets. The elephant is "kissed" on the paisley background with Regal Rose and the ear is stamped in Rose Red, cut out and popped up with dimensionals. The Regal rose piece is stamped with Paisley and the rose red is stamped with Floral. For the ribbon I first tied the white on and then added the pink gingham and rose grosgrain.

I was talking to Dad earlier and he said to "stay warm" so I am passing it on to you cause it is really cold out there - Stay Warm and have a great day.

Btw- I wish Mom had waited another week to do her "Snow Dance" because Joe is away this week. After no snow all winter we get a storm the day after he leaves. Oh well, I do have good neighbors who plowed me out yesterday (I did shovel the night before but it wasn't really enough).

This is a card I did using the color challenge from last week and a sketch I found at Scrap Maps. They are great and have lots of sketches for scrapbook pages and cards. Another creativity booster.

The colors for this card are lavender lace, pink passion and gable green. These colors were different for me and I found myself wanting to use the white gel pen (lots) to soften the colors and tie it all together. The stamp sets are Hip Hip Hooray and Polka dots and Paisley (for the dots on the pink). I didn't have any brads in the colors I was using so I embossed them with versamark and lavender EP (they were silver brads). I found that when embossing on metal it doesn't take as long because it heats up faster and stays hot longer so be careful. Also tweezers are a must when embossing brads.

As you can see I am still on the white gel pen kick. We'll see if the next card has any on it.

Chocolate & Celery

This is one of the cards we did last night without the stickles (they were added to the centers of the flowers on top) and I had to change the ribbon cause I didn't have enough of this one for everyone.

The colors are chocolate chip, certainly celery, pink passion and apricot appeal. The flowers are stamped in white the dots are stamped in apricot appeal and the paisley is in certainly celery. I used my fav white gel pen on the paisley and it really made it "pop". The edges of the pink were cut with decorative edge scissors and that was popped up with dimensionals.

It was really nice to get back to class last night. I love getting out and seeing everyone once a week and to get to share my love of stamping with them is icing on the cake!

Find Joy

I found this card on Splitcoast a fewdays ago when I was looking for some imspiration and had to CASE it. I love the choc. chip and brocade blue together. I seem to be in a white gel pen mood lately (anyone in my class tonight will see when I show them the cards) so this was right up my ally. The stamp set is the Polka dots and Paisley again, I forgot to say last time that it will be in the Spring Mini that comes out in March. I have been having fun with this set so I'm sure you'll see more cards with it in the near future.

I finally got ready for tonight's class last night. I had been working on the cards over the last few days but couldn't really decide which one to use. It was kind of funny to be prepping for a class again. The Christmas break was so long it seems like forever since I taught a class. I am really excited to see everyone tonight. BTW we are using Stickles for the first time tonight. I have had them since November and haven't used them and the card needed a little "bling" so they were perfect.

UHU and a new card

First off, I recieved these UHU products before Christmas and haven't had a chance to use them until a couple of nights ago. I found a link to Maria's Blog where she is giving free samples of UHU products to bloggers. When I finally had time to play the other night I gave them a try and this is what I found.

The Scrapbookers Pen: I liked the consistency of the adhesive,it was fast drying and I liked the hold it had but for me it was a little messy. It didn't buckle the cardstock or make it look wet and it did dry clear where I messed it up a bit :) I am definately going to use it some more and see if I can perfect the use of liquid glue. Oh yea, and the applicator for this was like no other one I have seen. It is kind of like a plastic chissled tip so it spreads the adhesive nicely.

The UHU Glue Roller: This was more my style (I normally use tape runner type adhesives) and went on really nicely.I used this one for the card below and it held quite good. The application was really smooth, I had no problems with it skipping or anything. I will be using this one more too for sure.

This card was inspired by the patterened paper I had on my desk from a tin I did for Mom or Amy (I can't remember whose it was 'cause I did one for each of them for Christmas and yes I need to clean my desk). Anyway, I used another sketch challenge for the layout and the colors came from the paper. It is hard to see in the picture but the verse in the lower left corner says "simply said from the heart - thank you. I have had Simply Said for quite a while but haven't used it much so I did this card and 1 more (that I will use for class this week).

I think that will be my goal over the next little while- to use some of the sets I haven't used in a while. But of course I need to use some of my new ones too so I guess I have lots of stamping to do :o)

Faux Button Tutorial

Supplies:

cardstock
1/16" punch
1/2" punch
white gel pen
versamark pad
glassy glaze or Utee
heat tool
tweezers
powder pal (optional)

Step 1:

Punch 2 holes with 1/16" punch fairly close together.





Step 2:

Punch 1/2" circle around 2 smaller holes.





Step 3:

Draw "stitch" between holes with white gel pen.





Step 4:

Press into glassy glaze, remove with tweezers then heat.

Add to card.

This is the first card I have made in weeks and it took way too long to make and it had nothing to do with the button. I guess I need to do lots more stamping this weekend to get going again.

I used both sketch and color challenges from SCS to help me along. I can't remember what sketch it was but the color challenge was from this week ( Cool Carribean, Basic Black and Whisper White). The stamp set is the free one we got from Stampin' Up! called Polka Dots and Paisley. Very cool.

I just found it when I was doing my regular check for the highlights from the Regionals in October. I was thinking Mom or I might be in a picture but never expected my card would be there!

This is the card I demoed with the faux button. I was going to give the directions here but I think I will attempt a tutorial with pictures. I am going to do some stamping today so I will do it then.

The image of the horse is done with the reverse grid technique. I just did a searc for it as well and couldn't find it on SCS so I will either do another tutorial or give the directions later.

Gotta go get some cleaning done so I can stamp later.

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to say a quick Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you all had a great day. We definately did. It was really great having Amy here to spend Christmas with us, the kids were so happy to have another person to show their new toys to and play with.

We are almost all packed up and ready to leave in the morning the rest of the week with our familys. Hopefully the weather is good tomorrow. I do of course wish we had had a little snow for Christmas but hope it holds off till around supper time tomorrow.

I also wanted to thank Sandra for the surprise I found when we went to do the last 2 blankets. Hopefully we can get to Micheals in our travels :)
Oh and Joe liked his blanket we made at Donna's and was surprised. And I got some goodies from CompuPro and a gift certificate for there as well so I will get to do some shopping when we get back!

Ok we are off to bed to get some sleep before the long drive tomorrow. Have a great holiday everyone.

Sorry

For not posting sooner but you know all of the excuses -it's that time of year.

It was a nugget box. You can find the patterns if you do a search on Split Coast in the forums section for nugget boxes. Darla was the fist one to guess a box so she was the closest. I have her address and will be putting a card in the mail asap.

The base of the box is mellow moss and the paper is from last years mini cataloge, I can't remember the name of it. The make merry if from tags and more and we used markers to color in the stamp.

I am almost done my shopping, I am going out this afternoon to try to finish and we are getting together tonight with some of the stampers for a little get together and to make some blankets. Believe it or not I actually have 3 of mine done. I am going to try to pick up the fleece today to surprise hubby with one that I will do tonight.

I'll try to post some pics of the blankets we do tonight. Gotta go make lunch.

This is one of the projects we are doing on Saturday, but I am not going to tell you what it is :(

After Saturday I will post another picture for those of you that aren't able to come so you can see what it is.

I really do like to keep you all in suspense. I am the one who doesn't want to give any ideas for me for Christmas because I want it to be a surprise. I did do a wish list at CompuPro but I will be happy with whatever I get from there :) I love playing with new stuff (hint, hint Nicole).

Speaking of Christmas presents- I have been trying to not look at the "spoilers" on SCS to see what the gift from Shelli is for demonstrators. I have to say though that I am really tempted to see what they are saying about the gift. I am assuming it is a stamp set but I have no idea what it is.

Anyway, you can guess what you think is in the picture above and post it here if you want but I won't say if you are right or not :)

Hmm, maybe the first person to get it right will get an RAK (random act of kindness - a card) from me. You can post a comment here (sorry Mom-you can't play this one) and Sunday I will post a picture showing what it is and who won. Any guesses?

I just tried to post a comment to Mom's blog and it wouldn't work. I was hoping I hadn't forgotten my password since it has been so long since I posted here! I guess it must just be a problem with her comments right now 'cause I didn't have any problems here.

I don't have anything to share right now. I am working on projects for Saturday. Well actually I just started last night, I have been sick for the last week and a half. I finally gave in and went to the hospital on Sunday and now have antibiotics so hopefully they will start kicking in soon. It figures I had a few days that I could have been stamping for fun and I didn't feel like it. Oh well, at least it will be over with before Christmas.

I am hoping to get some stamping in this afternoon so maybe tomorrow I will have something to show you. Maybe even a sneek peek for Saturday.

Pattern

Look at what I did!

Ok, it might not be too impressive to some or most of you but I have to say that I am pretty happy with this.

This is the pattern I drew on the back of the patterened papers for the class. Don't mind my names for all of them, if you look at the picture of all of the cards hopefully you can figure out which piece goes with which card. If not let me know and I will explain it better. If you click on the diagram it should come up bigger. The measurements aren't to any scale I just used "paint" on my computer and eyeballed it.

When I was figuring out my pattern I used grid paper and marked off 12 squares by 12 squares and then figured out my main pieces I wanted to get out of the paper (for me it was the tote and the tin) and then worked around those to create the other pieces for the cards.

I hope this helps some of you out and maybe will inspire some to make their own one sheet wonders.

OSW

These are the cards and tin we did in the One Sheet Wonder classes on Saturday. We also did a tote and a bookmark. All in 2 hours!
It was lots of fun and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Hopefully it wasn't too stressful for anyone :)

I had a few people ask for the template for the OSW so I am going to attempt to figure out how to make one on my computer. If that doesn't work I will draw a picture (if I have to resort to that please excuse my drawing - it is pretty much as bad as my computer skills, no it is worse for sure!) and take a picture of it. Wish me luck.

This Thursday is the last one of this year so we will be doing Christmas cards and then on the 16th of Dec we get together and I will have 3 projects for everyone to do and I will bring my stamps and inks and everyone can finish up any last minute projects/cards or maybe be inspired and do some new ones. I can't wait, maybe I will even get some time to play.
